ABOUT ME
I am a 22-year old Masters of Public Administration student at the University of Alabama with a background in politics and media. Growing up as a spunky, small town girl to eventually competing on the Miss Alabama stage has inspired me to empower others through my platforms. I'm a firm believer in the idea of challenging individuals to think "if it's not you, then who?" I'm a champion for our youth and work to create more opportunities for their personal growth through mentorship. I've been recognized internationally for my work to bridge the gap between a child's zip code and their access to opportunity. For the past six years, I've worked to create a movement that would inspire older generations to understand the importance of our youth and their impact on our future. This movement I hope will inspire them to engage with our youth, through mentorship, in order to decrease the concerning statistics regarding our youth of today.
MY WORK. MY MISSION.
Over the course of five years, I've been able to secure over $26,000 for youth development programs. I've created partnerships with organizations like VOICES for Alabama's Children, David Matthews Center for Civic Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham, SAFE Family Services Center, and more to get ahead of the curve and work to prepare our youth for the challenges of today and tomorrow. I've lobbied at our state capital and have collaborated with community leaders across the state to implement new mentoring programs, fundraise for existing ones, and advocate for better opportunities for Alabama's youth on a local and state-wide scale.
